Ohio River Foundation
Working with small businesses in South Africa with branding and working alongside Linder Business students
The Objective
As part of my previous design internship with Uhambo, I was on a team with two marketing students. We partnered with an entrepreneur from Khayelitsha, South Africa to create marketing strategies and a brand identity system to help our entrepreneur grow her business. This brand identity system represents the beautician services of Zeinabu Abramani. Zeinabu owns a hair salon. She is best known for her braiding services. She deserved an empowering, feminine brand identity to reflect her beautiful personality.

The Mood Boards
This is where I put together different mood boards of different branding explorations. I chose three very different directions. Warm and Genuine, Warm and Celabratory, and Thoughtful and Graceful. I communicated these through WhatsApp for approval.
The Chosen Mood Board
Namhla chose the Warm and Genuine moodboard that she most thought fit for her brand. This is where I began designing possible logo ideas for her to choose from.

I sent over three different options to pick from and here is where she decided what name she resonated with more.
